The Glutton Queen is the visual embodiment of consumption without conscience.
In a surreal, satirical portrait, an aging queen reclines on a golden throne, her stomach bloated, her dress pale green and strapless like faded luxury. Her crown is made of sea urchin regal, yet bristling with danger. From her tongue pour brightly coloured plastic beads, reminiscent of sweets, which spill across her lap and down her belly, pooling around the feet of a pelican.

The bird receives them silently one bead sits in its beak a quiet symbol of what we force-feed nature under the guise of affection or necessity.

This is not a villain in the traditional sense. She is adored, maintained, and revered and yet she is gluttonous, grotesque, blind to the consequences of her gifts.

Together with The Polite Poison, this piece forms a satirical diptych reflecting the dissonance between our self-image and the damage we inflict.

She is not evil. She is familiar. That is the horror.
