SALA 2025 Thalasic Pietà

Thalassic Pietà is a deeply personal and poetic meditation on the sea, its grace, its wounds, and our place within its vast memory. Emerging from a place of the artist's overwhelming sense of futility and inability to make a real difference. The works in this exhibition reflect her reverence and sorrow and a longing to connect with what is ancient, vulnerable, and enduring. The magical realism, surrealism and satirical paintings relate to idealism and trace an emotional arc from loss toward a glimmer of hope, shaped by a love for the natural world and a grief for what has been taken from it. Created in moments of stillness and early morning light, each piece is a quiet offering—an attempt to listen more closely, to feel more deeply, and to see what still speaks beneath the surface.
