Urwald Worship

This painting reflects the concept of humans being linked to nature, featuring towering mangroves in an imaginary setting. For Felicity, one of the captivating elements of The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea was the constant danger of natural disasters such as downpours, floods, mudslides, and hurricanes. With this piece, Felicity aimed to convey the unsettling blend of reverence and fear, as the gentle creek could suddenly transform into a raging river and sweep away all in its path.

Brushwork and some finger painting with glazes. Synthetic polymer paint on quality cotton canvas.  The painting has been varnished in a synthetic polymer varnish of archival quality.  36 by 36 inches (91.5 by 91.5cm).
